Kristie Au is a Canadian Chinese artist based in the city of Calgary. She received her BFA in Jewellery + Metalsmithing at the Alberta University of the Arts (formerly ACAD) and is currently pursuing her B.Ed at the University of Calgary. As a practicing metal artist focused on fabrication and creating pierced pieces based on her cultural identity, Kristie’s works allows her to constantly explore ways of connecting with her roots, inviting viewers to see culture in new ways. She has exhibited some of her works at the Vortex gallery as well as at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Receiving awards such as the John Poole Family scholarship and the Jewllery + Metals Contemporary Studio Practice Award.
